E. W. Burman was proud to partner with Washington Trust to transform a historic former bank building on Westminster Street into their newest branch in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood. This project required a careful balance of preserving the building’s architectural integrity while incorporating modern banking conveniences and high-end design elements.
The renovation features a spacious and inviting lobby, highlighted by a custom illuminated ceiling crafted from stained wood veneer and acrylic panels. The teller line is a focal point of the interior, showcasing intricately detailed millwork with curved glazing, fluted wood paneling, decorative metal framework, and resin accents. These custom finishes provide both aesthetic appeal and functionality, enhancing the customer experience.
To seamlessly blend the building’s historic charm with modern amenities, a new exterior canopy was constructed. Designed to complement the building’s original architecture, the canopy also integrates drive-through ATM and teller access, offering customers enhanced convenience while maintaining the site’s classic appeal.
Through expert craftsmanship and attention to detail, Burman successfully delivered a high-quality renovation that reflects Washington Trust’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation. This project stands as a testament to our expertise in historic renovations, ensuring that classic structures can meet the needs of today’s businesses while preserving their unique character.
