E.W. Burman, Inc is proud to announce that Edward W. Burman, Jr, the firms President, has been asked to be a panelist at Build Boston 2009; an annual convention and tradeshow for design and construction industry professionals held during November in Boston.
Ed will join Martha Werenfels AIA, LEED AP, of Durkee, Brown, Viveiros & Werenfels Architects; Julie Klump, of JA Klump; and Jason Kelly of Moran Shipping Agencies to educate industry professionals on historic preservation and sustainability and how to integrate these two design objectives under one roof.
Ed will be apart of the panel discussion explaining of the adaptive re-use of a former Medical Society building in downtown Providence for use as corporate offices. This panel will highlight the difficulties and rewards of obtaining approvals from historic review agencies while simultaneously earning LEED points.
This seminar also explores how sustainability and historic preservation can be brought together under one roof to create a successful project that saves a historic structure while being respectful of the environment.
